August is the big one: Seatsurfing ships a completely new role and permission model. It's the largest change to administration we've made in a long time, and if you run Seatsurfing today, it's worth reading before you upgrade. Alongside it, the usual round of smaller improvements and fixes.
Back in November 2025, we introduced inki, an open-source, battery-powered e-paper display built by community member c0de111 that shows live Seatsurfing booking data on your office walls. The project has since been renamed to Tinta, and it just went live with a pre-launch campaign on Crowd Supply.
We're excited to announce the launch of the Plus Plugin — a new, independently versioned add-on that brings additional features to self-hosted Seatsurfing instances, features that were previously only available on our hosted Professional plan.

We've been busy shipping improvements to the Seatsurfing platform over the past few weeks. Alongside numerous bug fixes and smaller enhancements, we've rolled out several features that focus on giving users more personal control and administrators more flexibility.
In May we reached a special milestone with version 1.100.0 — our 100th feature release — and shipped a brand-new floorplan designer with rotatable and non-rectangular spaces, calendar views for spaces, a booking-per-day chart in the admin dashboard, traditional Chinese localization, and several improvements to bookings, the map view, and user settings.
We're happy to announce that Microsoft Exchange synchronization is now available in Seatsurfing. The new integration keeps your Exchange room calendars up to date automatically whenever bookings are created, changed, or deleted in Seatsurfing.
In April we shipped a privacy control for user-level reporting, a new kiosk mode for on-site displays, a forced password change flow for better credential hygiene, and a set of UI improvements across booking views and email notifications.
In March we shipped a broad set of updates across analytics, booking workflows, approval handling, and account security. The result is a smoother day-to-day booking experience for users and more visibility and control for administrators.
In February we focused on account security and smoother user provisioning: Passkeys (WebAuthn), TOTP-based multi-factor authentication, and tighter session handling. We also introduced an email invitation flow so new users can set their own passwords, plus a set of smaller UI and notification fixes.
