Key Concepts

This section aims at explaining certain terms and concepts used throughout Seatsurfing.

Space​

A space is any kind of bookable unit: For example a conference room, a desk, or a garage.

A space can have optional attributes (see below).

Area​

An area is a floor which contains one or more spaces.

An area has a unique name and a floor plan.

An area can have optional attributes (see below).

Attribute​

An attribute is an additional piece of information which can be attached to either spaces or areas.

Types of attributes:

  • Number (i.e. "Number of available seats" for a conference room)
  • Boolean or Yes/No (i.e. "Big screen available")
  • Text (i.e. "Special Notes")
